Teacher Agreement

Effective date: April 30, 2026 · Myelin Cloud (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd.

This Agreement governs your participation as a teacher on the Yi Yan English platform. By applying or continuing to offer sessions, you accept these terms.

1. Eligibility

To register as a teacher you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid passport or government-issued ID.
  • Be a native or proficient English speaker.
  • Have a reliable internet connection, a functioning camera, and a quiet teaching environment.
  • Comply with all applicable laws in your country of residence regarding online teaching and income.

We reserve the right to verify your qualifications and reject or remove any teacher profile at our discretion.

2. Independent Contractor Status

You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, partner, or representative of Yi Yan English. Nothing in this Agreement creates any employment relationship. You are solely responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and compliance with applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

3. Platform Service Fee & Payouts

Service fee: Yi Yan English charges a platform service fee of 15% on the session fee paid by the student. You receive 85% of the gross session fee.

Example: If a student pays ¥200 for a session, you receive ¥170 and the platform retains ¥30.

Payout methods: WeChat Pay (企业付款), Alipay transfer, or bank card transfer.

Payout schedule: Earnings from completed sessions are released within 3 business days of session completion, after the student review period closes.

Minimum payout threshold: ¥50. Earnings below this threshold accumulate until the threshold is reached.

Disputes: If a student successfully disputes a session, the payout for that session may be withheld or reversed pending investigation.

4. Session Standards

You commit to:

  • Starting sessions on time and maintaining the full booked duration.
  • Preparing relevant lesson content based on the student's track and goals.
  • Conducting sessions in a professional, respectful, and encouraging manner.
  • Maintaining clear audio and video quality throughout the session.
  • Providing constructive session notes or feedback within 24 hours of each session.

5. Scheduling & Cancellations

Availability: You are responsible for keeping your availability calendar accurate and up to date.

Teacher cancellation: If you cancel a confirmed booking with less than 24 hours' notice, the student receives a full refund and you forfeit the session fee. Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension.

Student cancellation: If a student cancels with less than 24 hours' notice, you receive 50% of the session fee. If they cancel with more than 24 hours' notice, no compensation is payable.

No-show: If a student does not attend and does not cancel, you receive 100% of the session fee after a 15-minute waiting period.

6. Pricing

You set your own hourly rate, subject to our minimum rate of ¥80/hour. We may suggest pricing guidelines based on market data, but the final rate is yours to decide. Rates can be updated from your teacher dashboard at any time and take effect for new bookings immediately.

7. Prohibited Conduct

As a teacher you must not:

  • Solicit students to book sessions outside the platform to avoid service fees.
  • Share students' personal information with third parties.
  • Engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour.
  • Provide false qualifications, certifications, or reviews.
  • Use the platform to advertise competing services.

8. Content & IP

Teaching materials, lesson plans, and other content you create for use on the Platform remain your intellectual property. By uploading content to the Platform, you grant Yi Yan English a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use it for Platform operations.

Sessions may be recorded by students for personal review only. You consent to such recordings being used solely for the student's own learning purposes.

9. Account Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or permanently remove your teacher account if you:

  • Breach any provision of this Agreement.
  • Receive a sustained pattern of low ratings without improvement.
  • Accumulate three or more cancellations within 30 days.
  • Are found to have submitted false information.

You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Outstanding payouts for completed sessions will still be processed.
